The fire in Manavgat will be observed with an unmanned helicopter

The ongoing forest fire in Antalya’s Manavgat district will be observed with an unmanned helicopter.

Efforts to extinguish the forest fire, which broke out at noon yesterday in Antalya’s Manavgat district and were effective in many neighborhoods, continue.

1 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), 1 firefighting aircraft, 19 helicopters, 191 waterers and more than a thousand forestry workers took part in the works. Fire extinguishing activities are coordinated from the Fire Control Center in Ulualan District. On the other hand, an unmanned helicopter was brought to the region to transfer a snapshot of the fire from the air.

With the high resolution thermal camera and sensors on it, the unmanned helicopter can stay in the air for up to 8 hours to support the control point. It transmits a snapshot according to the incoming demand. The helicopter can reach an altitude of 20,000 feet and reach a speed of 160 kilometers per hour.
