The response to the forest fire, which broke out in different parts of Manavgat at noon yesterday and spread in a short time with the effect of the wind, continues. Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu examined the unmanned helicopter, which the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry started using this year, before the flight.
Pakdemirli gave information about the features of the helicopter.
Mentioning the importance of technology, Pakdemirli said, "We bought it for fire management, especially for night use. We are making its first operational flight. We use technology in every field. There are thermal cameras under it, it takes everything from there." said.
The helicopter, designed by the Turkish technology company to obtain an aircraft with a high payload capacity, flight time and range, in order to meet the needs in the military and civilian field, can reach speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour.
The unmanned helicopter, which is designed to support the control point with the high resolution thermal camera and sensors on it, can stay in the air for up to 8 hours.
The vehicle transmits a snapshot to the fire coordination center and instantly shares detailed information about the course of the fire and hot zones with the fire control center. Developed with the R&D project that has been going on for about 2.5 years using Titra technology, the helicopter can reach a height of 20 thousand feet.
