According to the news in AA, Titra Technology Senior Manager Selman Dönmez said that the company operates as a group company of SBI Bilişim, which was established in 2016 to serve the public.

Stating that they set out to bring useful technologies to the country and transfer new technologies, Dönmez stated that they established Titra Teknoloji this year by transferring activities for the defense industry after expanding the group with their work in the field of informatics.

Explaining that they have made investments, studies and researches in the fields of unmanned systems, smart systems and artificial intelligence, Dönmez stated that they started their work in the field of unmanned technologies with swarm technologies and created algorithms and software in this field.

IT WILL MEET NEEDS IN BOTH CIVIL AND MILITARY AREAS

Stating that they decided to work on the unmanned helicopter, which they see as an empty field in unmanned technologies, Dönmez said:

“We saw the need for a platform with a high load carrying capacity, capable of staying in the air for a long time, fuel-engined, and capable of long-range flight at high altitudes. We realized that this would meet a serious need in both the civil and military fields. We got to know the platforms very well with our work in the herd area. We started this project with the talents and abilities, the engineers we trained.”

Describing the platform they developed as “dehumanizing a manned platform,” Dönmez said, “The main technology and solution we focus on is the ability to be unmanned. It was a platform that could carry two people up to 190 kilograms and could stay in the air for up to 3 hours. We bought a manned platform from the global market and it is from Belarus. We started the transformation process by collaborating with an engineering firm.” said.

Explaining that they planned the necessary modernizations in the process and that they were working on enlarging the fuel tank so that the device could stay in the air for a longer time, Dönmez said:

“Because it stayed in the air for a long time, the engine performance had to be increased. We made some modifications to the engine. We modernized the electromechanical equipment so that functions normally controlled by a human can be performed unmanned. We have obtained a platform that can stay in the air for 7-8 hours and can carry a payload of up to 160 kilograms.”

HIGH DOMESTIC, MASS PRODUCTION

Emphasizing that their main goal on the platform is to demonstrate the feasibility of the dehumanization process, Dönmez said that they achieved this at the first stage.

Stating that they are planning the steps to realize the serial production of the project in Turkey in the next stages, Dönmez stated that they continue to work in a way that will gradually increase the rate of localization.

Dönmez said, “Our goal is to start mass production towards the end of 2021. We have made a dehumanization here. This is an indication that any platform in the inventory can also be dehumanized. The transformation of a platform can take up to 6-8 months. This platform is already ready for flight, its tests have been carried out and its technology has been verified. It’s a platform.” he said.

BASE STATION IN DISASTER

Selman Dönmez, who also gave information about the usage scenarios of the vehicle, stated that the vehicle can be used for logistics purposes in the civil area due to its high load carrying capacity, and that it can be used in the field of communication by integrating the base station in emergencies and disasters.

Dönmez said that if the vehicle is in the military field, it can perform tasks such as ammunition shipment and supply to the operation areas.

Stating that their primary goal is to meet the needs of Turkey in the field they are working on, Dönmez noted that they will also evaluate export opportunities targeting friendly and brotherly countries in the military field and different users in the commercial field.
